The Nausea of Being
This graduation project (for my final year of Master's studies at UMPRUM) is an illustrated book about my observations of the self and reality, exploring the feeling of nausea that can arise from existing with a conscious mind.
Through a collection of personal reflections and questions, it draws parallels between the external world and internal experience, suggesting that what is observed outside can offer insight into what lies within. While examining the interplay between text and image, this work blends philosophy with personal, subjective experience, positioned as an auto-ethnographic study.
The Nausea of Being, (title of the book), refers to a feeling of confusion, uneasiness towards my own conception of self, similar to what existentialist philosophers call ‘angst’.
